The Mirth of Manfred Blöb
James Ferris our dear and obtuse friend got in touch asking to do a show here so we replied 'oh ok'.
Along with his friends from Goldsmiths the team put together a great show which involved garden fences, paintings, spinning potatoes, gold beams and bird housey sculptures.
What with the new studios that had been built in the downstairs space, the show brought the space to life, with endeavour humour and vibrancy.
Indeed Charlotte Warne Thomas' installation of gold leafing one of the newly exposed beams downstairs so that it became a huge gold bar, was something that evoked countless debates over the nature of the space if it were to be a permanent feature, plus it allowed us to pretend we were one step ahead of the financial decline by investing in the only commodity still of worth... gold.
The final party complete with live music was a real shin dig, check out the video for more...
