The Bear
154 Deptford High Street, London, SE8 3PQ
The Bear Cafe on Deptford High St played host to bi monthly music events curated by Utrophia.
The first Thursday of every month and events supporting private views saw Utrophia platforming audio and visual art for a years residency which boasted no one band playing twice.
Musical acts from all over the world ended up playing at this little cafe at the wrong end of Deptford High St.
We got loads of people coming down and the events sometimes tied in with Deptford X festival. Like the second event I think it was when Now came and blew everyone's socks off.
Unruly.
We stopped doing things there after a year's worth of events mainly due to the fact that other music nights had not started up and the organizers started trying to impeach upon our night instead of starting up other nights catering to that kind of music (industry stuff).
But we had a lovely time there up until that point and feel we made many new friends along the way.
