Paintings - Stephen Molyneux
I decided recently that I'm only going to use my painting skills for good, not for bad.
Here's an overview on some of the paintings I've been 'doing' over the years.
Points From My Life I Thought Would Make A Funny Painting
Pretty much what the title says. These are situations I've found myself in which I have thought to put into a series of paintings, there are more to come.
Everyone's A Superhero
Painting on mirror so when you look in the mirror you become a masked vigilante that's a bit rubbish.
Come Have a Fling With Use
Re-appropriated faces on an old record sleeve. This took ages and began to feel like a study into schizophrenia.
A Choice Chew
These paintings were put together for a really limited edition run of my album 'A Choice Chew' for when I went over to Norway to play a bunch of shows with Coy Carp Burger.
They were following on from the made up superheros of 'Superheroes Day Out' where myself and Chris Irish made up superhero names and presented them with reverb on our voices to make it sound bigger than it actually was.
They are kind of rubbish people.
I think it was pretty inspired by Andrew Kauffman's book 'All My Friend's Are Superheroes'.
I don't think any exist anymore!
In fact the first one ended up with Nicole Boa who 'Song For Nicole's' about, but that didn't have superheroes on it but just weird little characters.
