grey
matter: 'grey matter' installation consists
of two large scale drawings (3m x 3.5m each), representing the iconic
image of the sheep in contemporary western civilization.
- 'The
content of the work relies on the context in which the spectator understands
the sheep. It exists in a bizarre category of paradox, it is everything
and it is nothing. The sheep as a common symbol represents an idea of
stupidity, or banality, paradoxically in religious terms the sacrificial
lamb dies to relieve the sins mankind. This ambiguous context makes
the language of the sheep an appropriate monument in this era of superficial
materialism.'
